Music : Professional recording studio
The Percy Centre is proud to be able to offer a fully-equipped professional recording studio and music education centre. The studio hosts an Apple iMac suite complete with Logic Pro 8, Reason 4 and various other audio and video editing programs. Our primary mixing console contains an Apple Mac Pro, an Allen & Heath 36-channel analogue mixing desk, Mackie HR824 studio monitors and a Focuswrite Firewire audio interface. Alongside is a generously-sized live room (acoustically-treated by SCV/Universal Acoustics and Future Music) with a selection of professional microphones, including Shure, SE, Rode & Sennheiser. There's also a seating area with its own kitchen, sports tables, Xbox 360 and plasma TV.
As well as being able to offer studio services by professional engineers at competitive prices, we also run free music courses for young people aimed at teaching various skills in music production, recording and engineering:
G-LAB - create music, learn to produce, record, DJ. Our tutors can help you learn professional skills to get on in the music industry - get radio play, sell your music, promote yourself, make contacts in the industry, get signed and much more!
Sessions are 7pm to 9pm Mondays and Wednesdays for young people aged 12 - 17. Drop in any session to get signed up!

We are also running 'Young Stars'. A music production and performance workshop aimed at girls aged 13 - 17. This project offers free sessions with a professional producer and performance coach to aid you in getting started with music, recording demos and improving techniques. Please feel free to get in contact or just drop in. Wednesdays 5.30-7.30 pm starting from January 14th 2012
The studio was established with funding from Bath Community Partnership and since then has received donations from Sennheiser and SE and has ongoing support from Farpoint Developments, Future Music magazine and a range of industry professionals who kindly donate their time and expertise.
